On June 29th, please join the San Diego Padres and some of swimming’s most accomplished athletes in a day dedicated to our local swimming community. Events include motivational speeches and testimonials from Olympic swimmers (potential guests include Jessica Hardy and Aaron Peirsol), along with a special meet and greet/autograph session. Then watch the Padres take on the Kansas City Royals at 12:35 pm.

A motivational speech and meet and greet will begin prior to the gates opening to the public. This is a perfect event for groups of all sizes. Encourage parents, grandparents and friends to share in your love of the sport, or just come and support your home team Padres with us!

Please call or email the LSC office with an idea of how many people you think may be attending from your group. A ticket purchasing promo code will be provided upon our groups total response. An email update will follow regarding discounted tickets. This is a great opportunity for your team to show it’s colors – wear your team t-shirts and bring your cameras. This is a great photo opportunity, and a way for other San Diego Padre fans to be exposed to our swim community.

Get your calls into Judy Ortwein today at (619)275-1292 or by email: office@si-swimming.org.

There is an interesting article in today’s Union-Tribune newspaper entitled “Shallow pool of premier talent: Why isn’t San Diego producing more world-class swimmers?”  The article features several comments from our own Administrative Vice-Chair, Mike Saltzstein.  You can read the full text of the article at SignOn San Diego.
